Wednesdays online classes, 6:45-8:00pm:
This online class is ideal for the flamenco dancer who already has some experience and wants to pick up more material for bulerias. We will be learning short combinations to assorted letras and estribillos, then working on how we might mix and match steps and make different choreographic and improvisational choices along the way. A good class for anyone wanting to prepare for fin de fiesta opportunities and juergas.
Thursdays, 7:15pm – 8:15pm: Intermediate dance: Bulerias

Thursdays, 8:15pm – 9:15pm: Beginner dance
In this class we will review the fundamentals of flamenco: the footwork strokes: golpe, planta, tacón; the basic arm and hand movements of the arms (braceo) and hands (floreo): fuera and dentro; body alignment, and basic rhythmic patterns. Movements will be put together in simple 4/4 or 6/8 time signatures, with singing accompaniment by Claudia and guitar by Julian. This class is ideal for someone starting flamenco, and for those who have taken beginner flamenco in the past and are just getting back in to it.
Minimum 3 registrants needed to run the class
Saturdays, 11:00am – noon: Beginner dance

Saturdays, 12:15-12:45pm: Palmas Circle
In this mixed level class, students of various levels will come together to work on the rhythm and clapping skills. The content will vary. Some sessions will focus on how to accompany dance, singing, or guitar; others will revolve on a particular rhythm or style; and during some sessions, participants will practice their tiempo (on the beat) and contra (off the beat) skills.
Minimum 3 registrants needed to run the class
Saturdays, 1pm – 2pm: Castanets and Sevillanas
Intermediate. First part of the class will be dedicated to castanet practice: dexterity, refining sound, and rhythmic patterns. Afterwards, we will work on Sevillanas choreography. This class is well-suited to those who have studied Sevillanas in the past and need a thorough review. Intermediate dancers can attempt to include the castanets in the Sevillanas. Those newer to castanets or Sevillanas choreography can focus on one or the other.
